Years from now, our children and grandchildren will ask where we were when the Great Washington Bridge Revival was announced. We were here, in Rhode Island, on the Henderson Bridge Rotary. I’ll never forget the cheers and celebration that echoed through every corner of our state when we learned of the change and innovation that was just around the corner. Soon (in 40 years,) a great revival of the bridge we’d all relied on for so long would be maybe almost completed. When your grandkids ask you about that old bridge they still haven’t quite finished fixing, you’re going to wish you had some sort of poster to point solemnly to, some representation of the trying times they will never have to endure.
